Assistant Dean

Texas A&M University SystemCollege Station, TX

About The Position

The Bush School is seeking a dedicated Assistant Dean to help shape how the next generation of public service leaders is recruited, developed, and launched into impactful careers. This role is a rare chance to guide the full student pathway, from attracting exceptional graduate students to developing and equipping them with the skills, experiences, and networks needed to thrive in public service. Rather than working directly with students day-to-day, you would lead a talented team of staff across admissions, career services, student development, and leadership programming, aligning their work to create a cohesive and high‑impact student experience. Positioned at the center of the Bush School’s mission, you would work closely with the school’s academic leadership, including department heads, the Executive Associate Dean, and the Associate Deans for Graduate and Undergraduate Education, while also partnering with staff across the Bush School in both College Station and Washington, DC. This is a significant leadership role with broad supervisory and organizational responsibility. You will work in close collaboration with academic partners, focusing on strategy, team building, and strengthening the student‑services infrastructure. It’s ideal for someone who brings both operational excellence and vision for how to evolve the student experience in support of the school’s future direction. Beyond campus, you would cultivate partnerships with employers, alumni, and public‑service organizations to expand opportunities for students to make real impact. The Assistant Dean is a position for someone who is deeply committed to public service and wants to influence not just individual students, but the broader pipeline of leaders entering the field.
