About The Position

Ensemble Performing Arts is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join the Evolve Dance Company in Rockford, IL. This role supports recreational dance classes in a positive, welcoming studio environment, focusing on helping students build confidence, coordination, creativity, and life skills through dance. The Assistant Teacher will work alongside lead instructors to create engaging, safe, and organized classes for students of all ages and beginner levels, mentoring young dancers and contributing to a vibrant dance community.

Responsibilities

Assist lead teachers during recreational dance classes.
Help students stay focused, engaged, and confident throughout class.
Demonstrate basic dance movements and help with technique corrections when needed.
Support classroom management and maintain a fun, safe environment.
Assist with stretching, warm-ups, and across-the-floor activities.
Help prepare students for performances, showcases, and recitals.
Communicate positively with students, families, and staff.
Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to support each class.
