About The Position

This is a temporary employment position for an Assistant Dance Line Coach. The role involves assisting the Head Coach by attending practices and basketball games (both Men's and some Women's), providing feedback to the team, and helping with or providing choreography. The position requires a commitment of approximately 50% to practice and game attendance, 25% to choreography, and 25% to working with the Head Coach on team-related activities such as fundraising, community service, and costumes for competitions and game days.

Requirements

• Dance experience
• Work well with the traditional college-age student population
• Ability to work non-traditional business hours including weekends & evenings
• Include a Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of one year experience in related field
• A valid New York State driver's license is required that satisfies both University and insurance company underwriting rules and regulations for driving a motor vehicle

Nice To Haves

• Teaching dance experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead practices when necessary or provide feedback on team based choreography and help sharpen routines.
• Work closely with Head Coach on a practice & game schedule for the team, up to and during basketball season.
• Knowledge of basic audio equipment to for practices
• Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to: student and employee personal information, student grades, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. Any question regarding the confidentiality of material, should be referred to the supervisor. Any violation shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
