The Assistant Customer Experience Manager is responsible for promoting excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates. This role involves greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving concerns promptly and professionally. The Assistant Customer Experience Manager focuses on continuous improvement in all areas of the department, assists the Customer Experience Manager in overseeing front-end operations, and may assume complete responsibility for total store operations in the absence of store management. Key responsibilities include enforcing cash handling controls, adhering to company policies and regulations (including Anti-Money Laundering Compliance, tobacco and alcohol sales, lottery, price accuracy, WIC), overseeing bookkeeping procedures, and assisting Customer Experience Associates with various transactions and tasks. The role also involves conducting cashier audits, assisting with onboarding and training new associates, implementing new programs, recognizing and rewarding associate performance, participating in annual reviews, and utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS) and auto-scheduler system. Additionally, the Assistant Customer Experience Manager manages supply costs, directs customer flow at the front end, ensures sufficient checkout availability, monitors breaks and lunches, oversees lot attendant services, operates scanning equipment and registers, handles phone calls, uses the intercom system, maintains equipment functionality, communicates promotions, engages in suggestive selling, participates in daily huddles, and maintains knowledge of weekly ads and store layout. Safety and sanitation of the parking lot, entrance/exit, and checkout area are also key responsibilities, along with general department sanitation and proper trash disposal. Cooperation with co-workers and superiors is expected for smooth department and store function, with a focus on continuous job performance improvement. The role may also involve assisting with baling cardboard, receiving and unloading deliveries (with proper training), and utilizing company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Assistance in other departments may also be required.
