The Assistant Customer Experience Manager is responsible for promoting excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates. This role involves greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving concerns promptly and professionally. The Assistant Customer Experience Manager focuses on continuous improvement in all areas of the department, assists the Customer Experience Manager in overseeing front-end operations, and may perform the duties of the Customer Experience Manager in their absence. In the absence of store management, this role may assume complete responsibility for total store operations. Key responsibilities include enforcing cash handling and security measures, adhering to company policies and state laws (including Anti-Money Laundering Compliance, tobacco and alcohol sales, lottery, price accuracy, WIC), and overseeing bookkeeping procedures. The role also involves assisting Customer Experience Associates with various tasks, conducting cashier audits, and aiding store management in onboarding and training new associates to ensure a fast, friendly, accurate, and efficient checkout experience. This position implements and communicates new programs, recognizes and rewards associate performance, participates in annual reviews, and utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS) and auto-scheduler system to manage associate schedules and labor goals. Additionally, the role controls supply costs, directs customer flow at the front end, monitors breaks and lunches, oversees lot attendant services, operates front-end equipment, answers phone calls, uses the intercom system, maintains equipment functionality, communicates promotions, engages in suggestive selling, and participates in daily huddles. The Assistant Customer Experience Manager also maintains knowledge of weekly ads and promotions, oversees safety and sanitation of the parking lot and checkout areas, ensures general department sanitation, disposes of trash properly, cooperates with co-workers, and continuously improves job performance. The role may also involve assisting with baling cardboard, receiving and storing deliveries, and utilizing company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Assistant Customer Experience Manager may also be called upon to assist in other departments.
