GAI Consultants, Inc., is seeking an Assistant Cultural Resources Technician 1 to support various projects across the mid-Atlantic and Midwestern regions. This technician will be responsible for identifying, excavating, and recording potential sites following state archaeological standards. Projects may include Phase I through Phase III, historical and/or prehistoric investigations. The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, hiking off-trail while carrying tools and equipment, and manually removing brush/vegetation when necessary. This is primarily a field position requiring accurate note-taking, completion of field forms, sketch maps, basic photography, and basic compass/navigation skills. The employee is responsible for obtaining their basic field kits and must possess steel-toed shoes, as well as maintain company-issued field equipment. The position requires close supervision and the ability to take direction from a leader, with basic oral and written communication skills and the ability to function positively in a team environment.
