About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Assistant Coordinator, Athletic Facilities & Event Management in Boca Raton, FL. Florida Atlantic Athletics is the heartbeat of the University. With 19 NCAA Division I athletic teams, Florida Atlantic strives to advance our nearly 500 student-athletes in their respective sports and the classroom. Be a integral part of this misson by supporting the Athletics department as the Assistant Coordinator for Facilities and Event Management.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Assistant Athletics Director of Facilities & Event Management.
  • Serve as Event Manager for designated varsity athletic programs, as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities & Event Management, and support others as assigned.
  • Assist with internal/external event operations, including scheduling, planning, event coordination, setup, and breakdown for departmental and rental events.
  • Serve as Facility Manager for Athletic facilities, overseeing daily facility maintenance operations and activities.
  • Manage and monitor preventative and routine maintenance programs, including facility walkthroughs, maintenance tracking, and the submission and scheduling of work orders.
  • Collaborate with coaches and staff pertaining to the facilities to ensure all facility needs are met.
  • Ability to explain/clarify problems, issues or requests.
  • Manage Custodial and Field Service contractors conducting regular facility inspections to ensure cleanliness, operational readiness, and overall facility condition; identify and report maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with the University’s Physical Plant departments (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Landscaping, etc.) to support the day-to-day upkeep and operational needs of Athletics facilities.
  • Collaborate with departmental staff to maintain appropriate inventory levels and supplies within Athletics facilities. Including product organization, placement, inventory coordination, and receiving of incoming deliveries.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
