Assistant - Converting - (9pm-5am)
About The Position
The Assistant - Converting supports machine operators in operating, repairing, and maintaining equipment. The role handles raw materials and finished products, including loading and unloading materials, and packs finished products into boxes with proper packaging and labeling. Assistants inspect products for defects and report quality issues to management, maintain a clean and organized work area, follow safety and waste-disposal protocols, and perform basic equipment maintenance while reporting issues to the maintenance team. The position also requires effective cooperation and communication with team members and accurate production documentation. Other duties may be assigned. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Pay is $19.50 per hour plus a $1 shift differential. There is an opportunity to enter the Operator Trainee program; successful completion leads to promotion to Converting Operator at $25 per hour. The posting advertises a $2,000 sign-on bonus, overtime, monthly production and perfect-attendance bonuses, and a referral bonus.
Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators with operating, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
- Handle raw materials and finished products, including loading and unloading materials as required.
- Pack finished products into boxes and ensure proper packaging and labeling according to company standards.
- Inspect products for defects and report defects to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning workstations, removing debris, and following waste-disposal protocols.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols.
- Perform basic machinery and equipment maintenance and report issues to the maintenance team.
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with team members to support production processes.
- Maintain accurate production documentation as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
