About The Position

The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions for Milford Mining Company’s mining and mineral processing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and maintaining strong internal controls. The Assistant Controller works closely with operations, maintenance, and metallurgical teams to provide financial insight that drives business performance. The successful candidate will be required to work in the office three days per week during the first ninety days of employment, at which time other hybrid options will be discussed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry
  • Familiarity with:
  • Standard costing and variance analysis
  • Fixed asset accounting and capital project tracking
  • ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Experience supporting audits and internal controls
