Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business
  • Team leading/supervisory experience.
  • 7+ years in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrable cost accounting capability.
  • Strong ERP understanding and ability to identify/implement improvements with IT support.
  • Advanced in Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of sequel/BI dashboard building.

Responsibilities

  • Managing, leading and developing direct reports (all Finance team members other than Controller).
  • Performing the tasks of the Controller in their absence.
  • Presenting financial information and perspectives to all levels of the organization, including C-suite and Board of Directors.
  • Identifying business risk and opportunities with cross-functional teams and developing mitigation plans.
  • Automating standard work processes to reduce administrative burden and risk of error.
  • Preparing robust and diligent financial business cases for capital investment proposals.
  • Performing in-depth financial analysis that facilitates decision making.
  • Leading the annual budget process, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and challenging departments with respect to expense, capital, productivity and headcount plans.
  • Preparing, distributing and consolidating budget review files in collaboration with departments.
  • Loading of financial statements into divisional and corporate consolidation systems.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly rolling forecast updates for income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Maintaining confidential personnel database to ensure accurate financial forecasting.
  • Leading the monthly and quarterly close cycles, supporting the team as necessary to prepare the full set of financial statements and present to the Controller.
  • Co-ordination and preparation of the monthly business review package, ensuring accurate information is received timely from other departments and challenging as necessary.
  • SOX compliance SPA – liaison with internal and external audit and coordinate documentation requests with internal departments.
  • Providing information for local, state and federal tax requirements, engaging Corporate tax personnel as necessary.
  • Maintaining RCM and critical testing documentation to reflect business conditions.
  • Ownership of inventory control scope, related entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Preparing work order variance analysis, identifying root causes and taking corrective actions.
  • Ensuring inventory risk is reviewed monthly and appropriate reserves are made.
  • Preparing annual cost roll data and leading the implementation process.
  • Oversight of the cycle count process and results, ensuring accuracy is >95% and implementing improvement actions.
  • Leading the annual physical inventory process and ensuring effective designation of duties across the team, collation of results and communication of outcome.
