About The Position

Overview: Job Description Summary: Supports the Controller in managing the hospital’s accounting operations and ensures compliance with GAAP, healthcare regulations, and internal policies. Oversees financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting support, and internal controls to maintain accurate and timely financial information for decision-making. Job Description: Essential Functions: Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and financial analysis. Ensures compliance with GAAP, healthcare industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Assists with external audits and regulatory filings Including the 990 and 990T. Oversees general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries. Supports payroll, investment, fixed assets, and accounts receivable processes. Monitors and enforces internal controls to safeguard hospital assets. Assists in annual budget preparation and variance analysis. Provides financial insights to department leaders for cost control and efficiency. Supervises accounting staff, providing training, and performance feedback. Collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to align financial practices with operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required.
  • Certified Public Accountant license, required.
  • Certified Public Accountant certificate, required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work independently, manage details, organize, and prioritize.
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience, required.
  • Preferably in healthcare or Big 4 accounting.
  • Prior supervisory experience, required.
