About The Position

PFS Co. is a fast-growing, multi-entity organization that embraces growth, develops leaders, and offers outstanding career advancement opportunities. More than just a workplace, we’re a business family with a fun, energetic atmosphere, and we’re proud of our Swagger. Our finance function is not a back-office cost center — it’s a competitive advantage built on modern ERP, large-scale data analytics, and emerging AI tooling. We are looking for an Assistant Controller who shares that orientation and wants to help push the function even further ahead of where most companies our size are operating. This is not a maintenance role. If you are an ambitious accounting professional who builds dashboards for fun, has strong opinions about ERP design, and has been waiting for a leadership team that lets you actually deploy AI tooling rather than just talk about it — keep reading.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to multi-entity / multi-subsidiary environments
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring others, whether formally or informally
  • Hands-on familiarity with a modern ERP; NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Genuine fluency with technology and data: advanced Excel and/or SQL, comfort manipulating large datasets, and demonstrated curiosity about applying AI tooling in a finance context

Nice To Haves

  • CPA
  • NetSuite administration
  • Public accounting background (audit or assurance)
  • Experience with intercompany accounting in a parent/subsidiary structure
  • Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) and multi-state sales tax

Responsibilities

  • Manage the vendor payment process, including check runs and ACH disbursements
  • Administer the corporate credit card program, validating charges against employee-provided receipts using Ramp card spend tools
  • Own the cash forecasting process using standard cash management methodology
  • Manage intercompany transactions between parent and subsidiary entities, including invoice generation, bill processing, and settlement of related-party payment activity
  • Oversee rent processing across 20 locations, ensuring payments align with negotiated lease terms
  • Manage CAM (common area maintenance) charges and annual reconciliations
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close, partnering closely with the Controller
  • Develop and support the production of monthly reporting packages for executive and operational leadership teams
  • Serve as backup for payroll, including periodic reporting of payroll data
  • Serve as backup for lease accounting and sales tax functions
  • Partner with the CFO and Controller on initiatives leveraging ERP optimization, large financial dataset analysis, and AI-enabled workflow improvements
  • Identify automation opportunities across the accounting operations stack and drive them through to implementation
  • Build and refine the tooling — saved searches, dashboards, scripts, integrations — that lets a lean finance team punch well above its weight
