Job Overview The Assistant Controller, under the direction of the corporate controller, plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. This position assists the Controller in managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (MBA preferred)
  • CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with Accounting Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the Controller in maintaining the general ledger and overseeing day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Coordinate and assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare account and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes; provide financial analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and assist in the annual audit process.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
  • Other duties as assigned
