The Assistant Controller will be responsible for assisting with financial, internal, and governmental audits, ensuring compliance in all operational aspects. This role involves supporting General Accounting functions, including financial reporting, fixed assets management, inter-company accounting, and daily expense analysis. A key responsibility is performing monthly testing of internal controls, including SOX controls, using Audit and self-assessed tools (ASAT) to maintain compliance with corporate standards and document any identified observations or control gaps. The Assistant Controller will also aid in preparing monthly operational packages, business reviews, and ad hoc reports. This includes assisting with month-end closing, journal entries, ledger account reconciliations, and establishing accounting policies and procedures. The role requires reviewing and performing monthly account reconciliations by their due dates, establishing and monitoring standard costs for products, and analyzing MRP reports, inventory, cost absorptions, and variances. Managing and analyzing standard costs, BOMs, and routers is also part of the responsibilities. The position may involve participating in or backing up payroll processing, Non-Financial Indicators, and checkbook management. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will support management with financial requests through detailed analysis and reporting, drive the operating budget process, assist with monthly/quarterly forecasting and budget finalization, and provide budget and project analysis for capital expenditures. This includes supporting financial payback and ROI analysis on capital projects and conducting post-implementation reviews. The role also entails participating in continuous improvement projects to identify opportunities and implement cost-saving objectives.
