About The Position

Bridgepoint Consulting, an Addison Group Company, is seeking experienced Assistant Controllers to join their growing Houston team. This role supports clients with a variety of interim and project-based accounting needs. The ideal candidate is looking for an opportunity to move away from internal roles, has a passion for helping growing companies succeed, and desires to make an impact in a fast-paced, growing company.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Recent hands-on experience with routine accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management.
  • Experience with monthly closing procedures and financial reporting.
  • Experience in a small to mid-sized company environment with the ability to multi-task and wear several hats.
  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing monthly account reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, with experience researching technical GAAP issues.
  • Ability to adapt to various client environments and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Accounting or Finance degrees are a plus.
  • Strong desire for consulting style work and delivering excellent client service.

Nice To Haves

  • Revenue Recognition experience.
  • Work experience with both public and private companies.
  • Industry experience in start-ups, technology, software, SaaS & Big Four/public accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct).
  • Moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or MBA.
  • Prior employment by a Big 4 or other nationally recognized accounting firms.

Responsibilities
