About The Position

The Assistant Competitive Dance Coach at Roosevelt High School will assist in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics. This role involves working with the Head Coach to determine athlete participation and playing time, positively promoting the athletic program, and operating within the policies of the conference and the SDHSAA. The coach will also maintain relationships with other coaches and assist with fund-raising activities as needed. Roosevelt High School is committed to providing excellence in education and challenging each student to achieve their potential.

Requirements

• BA/BS Education Preferred
• Coaching and teaching experience desired.
• Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit.
• The ability to travel between locations.
• Fundamentals of Coaching or Equivalent (must be completed one time).
• Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (must be renewed once every two years).
• Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know (must be renewed on an annual basis).

Responsibilities

• Assists in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics in their school.
• Works in conjunction with Head Coach in determining athlete participation during practices and games, including playing time at the respective levels.
• Positively promotes the athletic program within the schools and community.
• Operates within the policies of the conference and the SDHSAA.
• Maintains a staff relationship with other coaches.
• Assists with fund-raising activities as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
