About The Position

Monroe Group is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to support their affordable PBS8 community. The ideal candidate will have experience in Affordable Housing Apartment Management, possess strong communication skills, be able to multitask and meet deadlines in a busy office environment, and maintain a professional demeanor. This role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Assistant Community Manager should be a dynamic leader, proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and property management software, with a passion for customer service. This position offers mentorship for growth within the company, preparing individuals to oversee operations in the manager's absence. Key responsibilities include supporting day-to-day property operations, enhancing property value, and ensuring team success.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year as a leasing or administrative assistant
  • Working Knowledge of Onsite or Yardi Software
  • English language proficiency (read, speak, and write)
  • The ability to pass a full background check
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree is preferred
  • Experience in Affordable Housing Apartment Management
  • Experience with Project-Based Section 8
  • Participated in Management and Occupancy reviews and UPCS/REAC Inspections
  • Experience with resident-occupied project renovations

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Community Manager, complete the lease packet, calculate rent, and prepare all documents in accordance with Monroe policy and procedures
  • Maintain resident and property files and waiting lists
  • Responsible for rent collection and preparing lease enforcement notices
  • Assist with ordering supplies, processing invoices, and tracking maintenance schedules
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
