About The Position

Assists in the organization, development, and leadership of a competitive Field Hockey Program in support of the mission and core values of Union College.

Requirements

Prior experience in coaching and playing field hockey, preferably at the collegiate level.
Possess solid organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Understanding of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends is required.
Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
A valid New York State driver’s license is required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
The ability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues

Responsibilities

Assists in planning and conducting practice sessions.
Provides individual and group instruction focused on skill development and team strategy during games, practice, and individual sessions.
In partnership with the Head Coach evaluates player performance and provides feedback.
Assists in organizing and managing team logistics, including travel arrangements and equipment.
Provides support in the developing and implementing game strategies.
Fosters a positive and inclusive team environment.
