About The Position

Penn State Schuylkill is seeking a part-time Assistant Coach for the Women's Basketball Team. This role involves assisting the head coach in all facets of the program, with a focus on recruiting academically qualified and talented student-athletes. The position is part of a USCAA and Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) member institution.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Coaching or playing experience at the high school level.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and pass a driving background check.
• PA State Police Criminal Background Check.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form.
• FBI Criminal Background Check.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.
• Knowledge of USCAA and PSUAC student-athlete and institutional compliance rules and rules governing the play of various games.
• Event and personnel management experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Collegiate coaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with practice and competition coaching.
• Assist with the recruitment of academically qualified and skilled student-athletes.
• Help to arrange weekly practice schedules on the field.
• Help to provide vision and leadership to create a positive team culture.
• Provide feedback for the Director of Athletics to nominate and select weekly/season conference and national awards.
• Assist with the development of opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in community service. Use these opportunities to teach life lessons about respect, hard work, the value of education, and service to others.
