About The Position

The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for providing coaching expertise and leadership in support of the Aquinas College Women’s Basketball program. This individual will assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, game and practice preparation, and fostering the personal growth of student-athletes. The role requires a commitment to the mission and values of Aquinas College and the Athletic Department, while supporting student-athletes in their success both on and off the field.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience recruiting and coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level.
• A thorough understanding of and accountability to NAIA rules and regulations.
• Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athletes and NAIA compliance with the highest ethical standards.
• Driving a company/university vehicle may be required. A valid driver’s license is a requirement and an MVR needs to be conducted upon hire.

• Experience coaching basketball players at the collegiate or commensurate level.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and preparation of offensive practice and game plans.
• Provide instruction to players.
• Coach players individually and in groups, monitor academic progress, and ensure athletes meet conduct and culture standards.
• Identify, evaluate, and recruit talented student-athletes who meet the college's academic and athletic requirements.
• Assist with academic support, monitoring study tables, and individual meetings.
• Assist with camp coordination and other program fundraising needs.
• Ensure the program adheres to all NAIA, conference, and college rules and regulations.
• Serve as a Aquinas College ambassador, engage with the faculty and staff, and participate in fundraising and community events.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership, (ie. the equipment room).
