About The Position

The Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball supports the Head Basketball Coach by overseeing all aspects of player development, including training, performance analysis, and recruiting. This position works collaboratively within the coaching staff to ensure the holistic development of all players within the program.

Requirements

Previous coaching or playing experience.
Technical knowledge of the sport of basketball.
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assisting with practice sessions, including organizing drills and teaching skills.
Providing individual and group instruction to players.
Developing and implementing training programs.
Assisting with game strategy and preparation.
Providing support during games, including issuing instructions and advice to players.
Analyzing game performance and providing feedback to the head coach.
Assisting with recruiting efforts, including scouting potential players and contacting them.
Supporting athletes' academic and personal development.
Managing equipment and supplies.
Recording statistics and data.
Communicating with parents and other stakeholders.
Scheduling games and travel arrangements.
Maintaining knowledge of the sport and coaching techniques.
Ensuring compliance with all team, league, and institution rules.
Maintaining a positive and inclusive team environment.
