About The Position

North Haven High School is seeking an Assistant Coach for its Indoor Track Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the athletic department and head coach to develop student-athletes' potential. Responsibilities include supervision, practice implementation, equipment management, and parent communication.

Requirements

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience with the sport
• Must possess, or be working towards a Connecticut Coaches Certification (must be in place before the season begins)
• Must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified before the first practice

Responsibilities

• Work and communicate with the North Haven Athletic Department, including the athletic director, administrative assistant, and head coach of the boys’ outdoor track & field team program in all necessary capacities
• Supervise student-athletes at all times, including all practices and games
• Supervise student-athletes during transportation to and from “away” games
• Assist head coach in scheduling, organizing, preparing and implementing practice sessions on a regular basis to develop the student-athletes’ greatest potential
• Demonstrate positive characteristics and serve as a role model for student-athletes
• Assume all duties assigned by head coach
• Assist head coach in maintaining accurate inventory/record of equipment and uniforms and assist in submitting an itemized report at the end of each season to the athletic director
• Assist head coach in being responsible for constant care of equipment and facilities
• Assist head coach in communicating effectively with parents as it relates to student-athletes, which includes being a part of the preseason meeting

Benefits

• Compensation will follow North Haven’s coach’s stipend scale.
