About The Position

The Assistant Coach- Diving will assist the head coach in maintaining a highly competitive Division I program to include recruitment of prospective student-athletes, practice and game coaching, fund raising, community service, off-season conditioning, and administrative tasks. The role also oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and administration of Barletta Pool; oversees the hiring, training, testing, and certification of lifeguards; ensures that all appropriate water health and safety standards are maintained. Responsible for the continued assessment and upkeep of the pool; required to work on pre-determined weekends, mornings, and evenings to cover events throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Two to four years of diving coaching and recruiting experience in Division I Women’s Swimming & Diving.
  • Thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and NCAA regulations.
  • Good organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to take on multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends.
  • Availability for travel depending on team schedules.
  • Currently hold/willing to obtain: Certification/Licensure American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification, American Red Cross Professional Rescuer, CPR/AED Instructor Certification, and National Swimming Pool Foundation Certified Pool Operator Certification.
  • Ability to recruit, supervise, and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Knowledge of swimming pool water chemistry, temperature, and cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to inspect facility for risk management or maintenance concerns and identify resolutions.

  • Previous collegiate competition experience is preferred.
