About The Position
Position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and coaching instruction. Responsibilities may include supervising teams at varsity, junior varsity, and middle school levels.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and advanced strategies of applicable sport.
- Knowledge of VHSL rules.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop players in a positive way.
- Desire to teach and improve skill development.
- Must pass criminal record check.
- Previous experience as a player and/or coaching at any level.
- A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Head Coach, assist with planning practices, running practices, and coaching during practices and games.
- Communicate expectations to parents and players.
- Ensure there are always two coaches at the field.
- Attend all practices and games.
- Arrange for practices/game coverage if you are unable to attend.
- Start and end practices on time.
- You and other designated coach are always the last to leave the field.
- Adhere to school board requirements and recommendations.
- Attend all coaches' meetings.
- Assist with player selection.
- Supervision of team during all activities.
