About The Position
The University of Saint Mary is seeking a Part Time Assistant Coach for its Cheer program. This role will assist in the day-to-day functioning of the Cheer program, contributing to the personal and academic development of student-athletes while upholding the university's mission and values. The position involves coaching duties, recruitment efforts, and supporting the overall athletic department.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of related experience.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Capability to travel.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years or older.
- Must be able to successfully complete the approved driver certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the conduct, discipline, and positive character development of student-athletes, adhering to USM Mission and NAIA Champions of Character guidelines.
- Support student-athletes in their personal development and academic success.
- Teach and promote USM Mission values: community, respect, justice, and excellence.
- Assist in the recruitment of quality student-athletes.
- Aid in the retention of student-athletes through close monitoring of academic performance.
- Perform coaching duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
- Assist with inventory management, distribution, and collection of equipment and uniforms.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Department on sports promotions, fundraising, and recruitment.
- Assist with the management of USM Athletic Department facilities.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
