About The Position

Planet Fitness is a rapidly growing fitness center franchise with over 2,600 clubs, dedicated to providing a welcoming, non-intimidating "Judgment Free Zone" experience. Houston Fitness Partners, a leading franchisee, is seeking an Assistant Club Manager who values people, fun, honesty, accountability, and drive. This role involves assisting the Club Manager in various operational and staff management duties, ensuring a high-quality member experience and a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• Strong problem resolution skills, hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willing to become CPR/AED Certified prior to employment and maintain certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience at Planet Fitness.
• Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing staff (Member Service Representatives, Overnight Member Services Representatives, and Fitness Instructors).
• Lead by example, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring staff adhere to superior customer service guidelines.
• Resolve member concerns fairly and equitably.
• Assist with staff management, reporting, inventory, and other duties assigned by the Club Manager.
• Administer and enforce company policies and procedures for staff and members.
• Handle front desk activities, including answering phones, assisting members, checking in members, new member sign-ups, and giving tours.
• Facilitate all member requests, issues, and questions.
• Ensure prompt opening and closing of the gym according to protocols.
• Oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance, including daily cleaning responsibilities.
• Ensure the safety of employees, members, and club property.
• Determine and communicate equipment repair needs in a timely manner.
• Be subject to work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise.
