About The Position

SAFY is seeking an Assistant Administrative Treatment Director for our Birmingham division in Alabama. As an Assistant Administrative Treatment Director you will support the clinical and administrative operations of the division in accordance with Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) requirements, Medicaid standards, and applicable accreditation standards. This position assists the Treatment Director by providing clinical documentation oversight, compliance support, and clinical guidance to staff while maintaining a trauma‑informed, culturally responsive approach to service delivery. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the field of social work, counseling, psychology or related field of human services
  • MSW or LPC required
  • 2-3 years of experience in the field of social services, providing supervisory/administrative support and providing direct care services.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in establishing, maintaining, and monitoring clinical documentation standards for assessments, case notes, treatment plans, forms, and reports in compliance with Alabama DHR, Medicaid, and accrediting body requirements.
  • Reviews and approves clinical encounters, monthly reports, and foster parent grid documentation in accordance with program and funding standards.
  • Reviews and signs clinical intake documentation within licensure scope and organizational policy.
  • Ensures required pre‑ and post‑assessments are completed for all youth served, consistent with program requirements and timelines.
  • Reviews treatment plans for completeness, compliance, and clinical appropriateness prior to final approval.
  • Supports divisional readiness for internal reviews, external audits, monitoring visits, and accreditation activities.
  • Assists with monitoring compliance related to mental health utilization, service authorization, and required reporting.
  • Provides clinical guidance and support to staff related to treatment planning, documentation quality, and compliance expectations.
  • Serves as clinical and administrative backup support to meet treatment program needs, as assigned.
  • Provides feedback and guidance to staff regarding documentation accuracy, timeliness, and utilization compliance.
  • Supports staff professional development through coaching and clinical guidance within role parameters.
  • Elevates performance concerns to the Treatment Director in accordance with organizational policy.
