About The Position

This position is responsible for patient care coordination on a designated shift in the assigned department, collaborating with the supervisor or manager to ensure quality patient care consistent with the organization's philosophy and objectives. It provides direct operational support for the unit on a shift basis, acts as a clinical resource person for the staff, and serves as a liaison between staff and management. This role assists the manager in determining staffing needs and identifying problems within the designated unit. The Assistant Clinical Resource Manager acts as a communication link between management, supervisors, staff, patients, physicians, and others. The position serves as a resource to staff for patient care assessment and in the planning of nursing interventions. It facilitates problem resolution and collaborates with the manager in assessing the quality of care provided, identifying staff strengths and weaknesses, and evaluating staff performance. Operational issues are identified by this position, and the individual works to take action and correct problems. Interface with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care planning is also required. The role is responsible for performing administrative support duties including clerical, receptionist, scheduling, and purchasing activities for one or more Managers. The individual must have the ability to coordinate publications, large group meetings, and be proficient in various software packages. This individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to handle multiple tasks and coordinate multiple requests while maintaining a positive customer service approach. This position must demonstrate good telephone skills and be able to assist others in a courteous manner, following up on the caller’s needs. The individual in this position performs various off-unit activities and attends staff meetings. The role provides administrative support to the Clinical Resource Manager and performs various chart audits that will focus on quality improvements being made in the Emergency Department.
