About The Position

Riggs Community Health Center is seeking an Assistant Unit Manager for our Pediatrics and Reproductive & Sexual Wellness (RSW) team. As part of the management team, you will help oversee operations and development of the Primary Care practice, which consists of MD/PNP/FNP Providers, Nurses, Medical Assistants, and various support staff members that assist with coordination of daily tasks. These positions report directly to the Unit Manager for their assigned clinical specialty. We provide a growing variety of services to the community in a small patient-centered clinic setting. Our management team is challenged on a day-to-day basis in everything from hands-on care, to employee engagement activities. Our managers work as a team to bridge all Riggs services for the benefit of our patients. As a Riggs Community Health Center management member, you will collaborate with highly skilled medical professionals in a variety of concentrations to provide top quality care options to an under-served population. Responsibilities

  • Assists with development and implementation of overall organizational plan for the department
  • Provide effective oversight and direction to the assigned team in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures
  • Organizes and supervises daily appointment check in procedures
  • Evaluates staffing and screens new hires to meet staffing needs
  • Maintains communications with the unit manager through participation in regularly scheduled meetings
  • Directs, plans and implements orientation and education programs to promote staff training and development for office support personnel
  • Supervises the office personnel
  • Prepares cash reports, deposits and manages finances of the unit for daily operations
  • Skillful conflict resolution among staff and patients
  • Empower employee growth and development
  • Responsible for maintaining medical and office supplies for the assigned department
  • Develops a system for summarizing clinical and laboratory data for evaluation and planning purposes, and quality assurance
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of educational programs for patients and families to increase awareness of insurance, behavior standards, and Riggs CHC policies and procedures
  • Attends and participates in in-service education programs for staff, quality assurance programs, and risk-management programs
  • Relieves and substitutes for assigned staff as needed for unit operations
