About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the patient care delivery and workflow in the Emergency Department’s operations and environment. Directly supervises RN’s, Clinical Associates, department Technicians, Unit Assistants, and Support Staff in all aspects, including hiring/firing, performance evaluation and management, mentoring, scheduling, and addressing employee relations. Duties also include completing daily or shift specific quality audits and visibility boards, facilitating daily huddles with staff, leading staff/quality meetings, delivering quality patient-centered care in a fiscally responsible manner, and rounding with patients and families. This job may be required to work nights, weekend, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • At least (1) year of clinical experience in the area they are applying.
  • One (1) year of Charge nurse experience with demonstrated leadership skills preferred and/or equivalent experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Demonstrated strength in building and articulating a vision and setting goals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple critical projects.
  • Ability to build and establish positive relationships.
  • Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) - required within 3 months of hire
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Registered Nurse – CA . RN)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Advanced Trauma Course Nursing (ATCN) may also be accepted in lieu of TNCC.
  • Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Over four (4) years of leadership experience managing in the healthcare industry.
  • Four (4) years of experience in clinical specialty.
  • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited school or Master's degree in healthcare-related field.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
  • Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN)
