About The Position

Assistant Clinical Director – Youth Behavioral Health Location: St. Augustine, FL Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $80,000 - $85,000 per year About Youth Opportunity & St. Augustine Youth Academy Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. St. Augustine Youth Academy in St. Augustine, Florida, is a secure 70-bed Youth Academy serving males ages 13 to 17, providing trauma-informed care for mental health and substance abuse treatment needs. The center integrates clinical therapy, education, restorative justice, therapeutic recreation, and life skills development. Youth typically stay according to individual treatment progress, engaging in individual, family, and group therapy; victim impact awareness; pre-vocational preparation; and enrichment activities including art, music, and recreation. Small group living units and licensed dietitian-managed nutrition promote stabilization and successful community reintegration.

Requirements

  • Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Clinical Psychologist
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, or related human services field
  • Minimum two years of direct-care clinical experience, with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work with youth in challenging situations
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Must meet state criminal background check requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with trauma-informed care, group modalities, and residential settings
  • Familiarity with child welfare, juvenile justice systems, and substance abuse treatment
  • Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation standards

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation of individualized mental health and substance abuse treatment plans
  • Provide ongoing assessment, evaluation, and counseling to youth and their families under supervision of the licensed Clinical Director
  • Oversee the delivery and documentation of all mental health and substance abuse services, including biopsychosocial assessments
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate clinical and case management staff
  • Provide or coordinate training for clinical staff and direct-care teams
  • Supervise specialized treatment programs such as Sexual Offender Treatment or Seven Challenges
  • Provide diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, and crisis interventions
  • Participate in on-call clinical duties as needed
  • Serve as backup to the Designated Mental Health Authority when required by contract or regulations
