About The Position

We have an opening for a full-time life insurance Assistant Claims Processor. This position involves working directly with our clients and processing policy benefits. A qualified candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, be customer focused, detail oriented and able to work quickly and accurately in a deadline driven environment. This position requires being on-site at the Investors Heritage home office in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Requirements

  • Some college‑level studies or at least one year of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to take on new tasks as needed.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing life insurance claims and policy benefit transactions
  • Manage inquiries, document claim activity, and support timely claim resolution
  • Assist clients by phone and written correspondence, including email, with claims filing instructions
  • Perform data entry related to claims and supporting documentation
  • Organize print, mail, fax, and email paperwork
  • Scan and index documents into the electronic imaging system
  • Work with internal departments to obtain missing or required claim information
  • Other duties as necessary
