About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform professional level work of substantial difficulty and exceptional quality with minimal supervision, including legal research, investigations, charging, litigation, motions, pleadings, bench and jury trials, appellate memoranda, negotiations with defense attorneys and pro per defendants, advising staff on routine matters and all other activities in conjunction with the prosecution of misdemeanor criminal cases. In particular the City is searching for an attorney with prosecution experience, specifically, extensive experience handling DUI cases and conducting DUI jury trials. The ideal candidate for this position will have: A positive, team-oriented outlook. Recent, extensive experience handling misdemeanor criminal cases. Recent experience conducting DUI THC jury trials. Completed a minimum of five DUI jury trials. Experience working in a prosecution office. Experience with DUI Motion practice and appeals.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  • Minimum of two years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment and procedures.
  • Membership in good standing in the State Bar of Arizona.
