This position is part of a two level career progression of Assistant City Prosecutor I and II. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking prosecutor who embraces technology and customer service. The Assistant City Prosecutor is responsible for all aspects of municipal prosecutions and appeals including appearing in court, conducting trials and all aspects of motion work; provides assistance with other civil and criminal matters within the jurisdiction of the city; performs legal research; prepares legal documents related to municipal court cases and appeals to district court; answers legal questions from law enforcement and other internal partners; provides training to stakeholders, and assists the City Prosecutor, other Prosecutor's Office staff, and members of the City Attorney's Office as needed in matters within the jurisdiction of the city. The Assistant City Prosecutor II is responsible for all aspects of municipal prosecutions and appeals and aiding with other civil and criminal matters within the jurisdiction of the city. A significant portion of their time will be spent appearing in court and conducting trials. This position is part of a two-level career progression of Assistant City Prosecutor I and II.
