About The Position

The City of Chandler Law Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Assistant City Prosecutor II. The position is scheduled to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Law Department serves as the legal advisor to the City Council, City Manager and all City departments, and represents the City in all legal proceedings. The Prosecutor's Office is a section of the Law Department and is responsible for the prosecution of criminal misdemeanor cases in City Court and appeals to the Superior Court, Court of Appeals and the State Supreme Court. Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking to perform advanced and professional work in handling misdemeanor prosecutions in the City; handles charges, pretrials, trials and the appeals process.

Requirements

A Juris Doctorate Degree
2 years of experience as a criminal trial attorney which includes experience in legal research
A licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Must be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
Must comply with the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol, including the prohibition of recreational marijuana use.
