The Investment Company Institute (ICI) is seeking an Assistant Chief Counsel based in the Washington, DC office to play a central role in advancing its global policy agenda, with a particular focus on international standard-setting bodies, including the International Organization of Securities Commissions and the Financial Stability Board. This role sits at the intersection of global regulatory policy, legal analysis, and strategic advocacy. The Assistant Chief Counsel will support the development and articulation of ICI’s positions on cross-border regulatory initiatives affecting regulated funds and asset managers and will contribute to shaping international policy discussions on issues such as financial stability, market structure, liquidity risk management, and digital finance. Working closely with the Chief Counsel and the broader Global Affairs team, the successful candidate will engage directly with global policymakers and ICI members to ensure that international frameworks reflect the realities of regulated fund structures and support efficient, well-functioning capital markets. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape global regulatory policy at the highest levels. The Assistant Chief Counsel will contribute directly to international policy debates and help ensure that the perspectives of regulated funds and long-term investors are reflected in evolving global standards, best practices and guidance.
