About The Position

Saint Louis University (SLU), founded in 1818, is a highly regarded Catholic university with a campus in Madrid, Spain. This role supports the Head Coach in developing, managing, and overseeing the game day Cheer program. Responsibilities include assisting with the recruitment of student-athletes who are committed to academic success, ensuring compliance with NCAA, Atlantic 10, and university regulations, managing budgets, participating in fundraising, and organizing camps and clinics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of related experience
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends
  • Prior coaching experience required
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills required for working with diverse groups
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive matters involving student-athletes

Nice To Haves

  • Previous collegiate coaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the daily organization and overall administration of the game day Cheer program
  • Attends all home men’s and women’s basketball games
  • Assists in scheduling and conducting practices
  • Responsible for NCAA compliance, A-10 and University compliance
  • Assists in overseeing student team members’ athletic and academic development
  • Works closely with band, cheer, and the student group in engaging fans and students in the game day experience
  • Performs other duties as assigned
