About The Position

The Assistant Center Manager (ACM) at European Wax Center is a leadership role focused on being the heartbeat of the floor. The ACM coaches the team, owns the guest experience, drives sales, and acts as the leader-on-duty. This position is for individuals who are already leading, formally or informally, and are ready for more responsibility with a clear path for advancement. Ballast Wax, a multi-unit EWC franchisee, is seeking ACMs who are enthusiastic about the beauty and wellness industry, passionate about guest care, and eager to grow into Center Manager roles and beyond.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest-facing role (beauty, spa, retail, hospitality, or similar).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, such as training new hires, running shifts, handling escalations, or stepping up in critical situations.
  • Comfortable recommending products and services through education rather than hard-selling.
  • Ability to coach struggling team members with empathy while maintaining high standards.
  • Genuine passion for the beauty and wellness industry, with an interest in skincare or waxing and a desire to build a career in the field.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends (one shift, not both), and flexible weekday hours.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Set the tone for every guest interaction, ensuring it is warm, professional, and consistent.
  • Proactively address guest concerns and resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Ensure every guest leaves feeling confident and inclined to return.
  • Lead by example in educating guests on Wax Passes, products, and services.
  • Motivate and coach the team to achieve individual and center Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Stay informed about promotions, product launches, and brand updates.
  • Support local marketing and community engagement efforts.
  • Coach Guest Service Associates and Wax Specialists on the floor daily.
  • Assist with onboarding new team members and fostering a welcoming environment.
  • Uphold service, professionalism, and accountability standards in the Center Manager's absence.
  • Act as the point of contact and decision-maker when leading a shift independently.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures with precision.
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation standards are consistently met.
  • Support accurate Point of Sale (POS) transactions and guest profile management.
  • Assist with daily administrative tasks, inventory, and reporting.
