About The Position

The Assistant Caseworker at the Ogden Christmas Box House provides a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children ages 0–20 who need safety and care. The role supports professional social staff with direct client services and contributes to the health, safety, and well-being of children in custody. The Christmas Box House is a 24-hour facility. Positions are available for swing shift, graveyard shift, and weekends, with differential pay offered for working those shifts and holidays.

The position is full-time, in-office/on-site, and based at the DCFS Christmas Box House in Ogden, Utah. Travel is required, and employees may need to use a personal vehicle for job duties; approved mileage is reimbursable. The role may require 24-hour on-call service, with response time determined by the agency. Employees must physically work within Utah. Offers are contingent on passing a Background Screening Application and criminal history check.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be team oriented.
• Deal with people with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
• Have a valid Utah driver’s license.
• Successfully pass a criminal history check and the required Background Screening Application.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide care for infants, toddlers, and youth in custody.
• Maintain detailed logs for each child in custody.
• Transport children to school, youth activities, and visits.
• Maintain facility cleanliness, including vacuuming, cooking, and cleaning.
• Assist with entering data into computerized systems and maintaining case files.
• Update case documentation, including intake records, investigation summaries, case histories, activity logs, risk assessments, social summaries, service plans, and correspondence.
