This role provides various services supporting the case management process. Responsibilities include obtaining and recording authorizations for ancillary services, denial reporting, facilitating and documenting referrals to appropriate facilities or agencies with patient choice, expediting discharges by transmitting necessary documentation to providers, documenting all interactions with payers, communicating status with appropriate staff and case management staff, arranging for patient transfers, and functioning as a key point of contact between case management staff, admissions, and payers.
