About The Position

This role is in support of Cencora’s distribution services in the US operating through our AmerisourceBergen business. The Assistant Buyer is responsible for procurement support activities related to selected suppliers. They utilize discernment in actioning inventory reporting and updating corporate items status. This role is responsible for transactions such as transfers, editing previous orders and special orders. Under the mentorship of the Buyer, the Assistant Buyer performs inventory management activities as assigned. They maintain current open purchase orders status by obtaining tracking information and updating item notes to maximize the established buyer service level objective. The Assistant Buyer makes suggestions and recommendations to continually improve the replenishment operation processes, resolves issues independently, and is able to mentor and train other employees. They support Buyers’ overstock inventory objectives by assisting with product returns and performs related duties as assigned. This role contributes to operational improvement by recommending process enhancements and mentoring other team members to strengthen consistency and effectiveness in replenishment operations.
