About The Position

The Assistant Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring our Buying Team has the operational and administrative support needed to execute seamless inventory planning. This position is designed to provide a clear growth path to becoming a future buyer, allowing you to learn, contribute, and refine your expertise in fashion merchandising.

Requirements

  • Strong eye for detail—accuracy in attributes, season codes, and inventory details is essential to ensure smooth operations.
  • Well-organized—you’ll juggle multiple deadlines, shipments, and vendor communications at once.
  • Data-driven and analytical—strong skills in Excel/Google Sheets and the ability to analyze large amounts of data are essential.
  • Numbers-savvy—you’ll work with purchase orders, pricing, and vendor invoices daily.
  • Take ownership of your work—ensuring accuracy and efficiency without needing constant oversight.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills – comfortable with formulas, data organization, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to interpret sales data and inventory trends.
  • Meticulous organization – able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines with precision.
  • Good with numbers & money math – skilled at handling invoices, pricing, and reconciliations
  • A passion for fashion – understanding trends and inventory needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and entering data – ensuring every purchase order, inventory attribute, and vendor detail is accurately recorded.
  • Tracking shipments & deliveries – communicating inventory tracking and delivery dates to operations and stylists.
  • Reconciling vendor payments – verifying and managing financial details to maintain accuracy and accountability.
  • Handling RTVs (Return to Vendor) & consignment management – facilitating swaps, returns, and ensuring product flow aligns with business needs.
  • Customer Special Orders – placing orders for specific merchandise needed
  • Assisting in receiving – helping to check in new inventory, ensuring accuracy in shipments, and coordinating with the warehouse team.
