About The Position

Dolce & Gabbana offers an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to support the development, selection, and in‑season management of assortments across North America. This role blends merchandising and buying responsibilities, ensuring that product assortments reflect brand identity, regional needs, and commercial objectives. The Assistant Buyer partners with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Retail, Wholesale, and HQ cross‑functional teams to support both seasonal buy moments and day‑to‑day product performance.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, or Planning within luxury or premium fashion.
  • Strong analytical ability with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with merchandising/buying systems.
  • Solid understanding of product lifecycle, retail KPIs, and fashion trends.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in seasonal buying sessions, supporting the selection of styles, quantities, and assortments.
  • Assist with buy tools, order entry, line sheets, and assortment recaps.
  • Provide regional insights based on client trends, store feedback, and historical performance.
  • Ensure accurate product and pricing information across all buying documents.
  • Monitor weekly product performance including sales, margin, and sell‑through.
  • Recommend reorders, replenishment needs, transfers, or consolidations based on performance and stock levels.
  • Track deliveries, delays, and product availability in coordination with Allocation and Supply Chain.
  • Serve as a point of contact for stores regarding product knowledge, assortment priorities, and in‑season direction.
  • Assist with product storytelling, training resources, and selling strategies for key categories.
  • Manage sample needs for meetings, trainings, photoshoots, and events.
  • Track fashion trends, competitive assortments, and client preferences to inform seasonal buys and in-season decisions.
  • Share insights with cross‑functional teams to support product strategy and regional relevance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance recaps highlighting category wins, risks, and opportunities.
  • Analyze KPIs such as sales, sell‑through, weeks of supply, and inventory health.
  • Support end‑of‑season recaps and post‑mortem analysis.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Retail Operations, Wholesale, Marketing, and HQ teams.
  • Support buying meetings, collection reviews, and product approvals.
  • Ensure alignment across teams on product priorities, timing, and strategy.
