The Assistant Business Manager will support the Dean's Office in the preparation and submission of the College's annual budget, and manage general fund and restricted accounts, including expenditures and budget tracking. This role involves reviewing submissions for accuracy, maintaining financial tracking spreadsheets, and assisting with grant and contract budget preparation. The Assistant Business Manager will also serve as a liaison with various university departments such as Business Affairs, Academic Affairs, Bursar Operations, General Accounting, and Sponsored Programs, ensuring compliance with University, System, and State policies. Additionally, the position supports summer budget development and revenue/expense tracking. In terms of personnel management, the role acts as a liaison with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and Finance for personnel processes, reviews personnel action forms, and assists in tracking faculty, staff, and student employee hiring. Processing graduate assistant and student worker appointments, and maintaining personnel records are also key responsibilities. Administrative duties include managing office equipment and supplies, collaborating on record retention, supporting inventory and purchasing, providing basic training on university business processes, and assisting with travel compliance and booking. The position also involves maintaining endowment/professorship databases, processing foundation payments and scholarship submissions, and assisting with onboarding new employees. Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
