About The Position

BJ's Restaurants is seeking an Assistant Brewer to join their team. This is a high-energy, hands-on production role that is the backbone of the Brewhouse. The role involves learning every step of making craft beer, from milling malt to kegging and canning finished beer. It requires physical work, including moving kegs and materials, working in various temperatures and environments, operating equipment, and significant cleaning and sanitizing. This is a zero-tolerance alcohol and substance-free workplace, with strict protocols for authorized QC tastings.

Requirements

Must be 21+ years old.
1+ year of craft brewing or advanced homebrewing skill preferred.
Experience with tools or mechanical equipment.
Forklift experience preferred.
Ability to move heavy objects repeatedly and work from ladders/harnesses.
Ability to work evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Responsibilities

Execute exact recipes and SOPs for brewing and cellar operations, including managing yeast and supporting soda production.
Operate filter equipment and rack beer into kegs.
Adhere strictly to OSHA protocols and chemical handling procedures.
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Support daily facility upkeep and production readiness.
Follow SOPs exactly with no shortcuts; reliability is a key requirement.
Maintain a spotless brewery and pass sanitation audits.
Operate manual equipment (pumps, valves, forklifts) safely and efficiently.
