About The Position

Value Added Distributors, LLC is hiring a full-time Assistant Branch Manager in Dyersville, IA to help run daily operations, grow people, and keep our branch performing at its best. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where your leadership directly shapes the customer experience and team success.

Requirements

  • 21+ years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years in a leadership position
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Basic math capability (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and the ability to use a tape measure
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs (team lift)
  • Basic computer skills for data entry; ability to type 25+ wpm

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced business degree and/or 2+ years' industrial assembly experience
  • Manufacturing knowledge, including fluid power and industrial sales
  • Forklift driver certified (plus) - WE WILL PROVIDE TRAINING AS NEEDED

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily branch operations-opening/closing, ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and orderly.
  • Select, train, coach, and evaluate team members to boost productivity and performance.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, handle complaints, and build strong relationships with internal/external customers.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in rolling out new procedures, quality initiatives, policies, and training-and ensure goals are met.
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels; ensure adequate stock, and assist with product order and delivery processes.
  • Ensure operations comply with federal, state, and company policies and safety regulations.
  • Assist with budgets, financial reports, and monitor daily activities that impact operations.
  • Serve as a point of contact with other departments (Quality, Sales, Human Resources, etc.).
  • Ensure delivery of products to internal and external customers.
  • Promote a sense-of-urgency culture and disciplined adherence to support quality, delivery, and profitability.
  • Embrace continuous improvement and empower team members to achieve company goals.
  • Oversee order assembly, prepare goods for shipment, and record shipment data.
  • Handle data entry and database management.
  • Be responsible, directly or indirectly, for procuring materials, supplies, and items necessary for daily operations.
  • Achieve and exceed production goals.
  • Participate in training and lead by example (quality standards, safety practices, individual development, compliance).
  • Assist with hose assembly and follow all required safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
