About The Position

The Assistant Branch Manager provides on-site leadership, motivation, and direction for the frontline branch staff, aligning the staff with Thrive Credit Union’s performance and member service expectations. Additionally, the Assistant Branch Manager directs daily front-line operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls, operations controls, and risk management as directed by the Director of HR & Branch Operations and Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of financial services industry experience or 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a retail environment.
  • Excellent human relations skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
  • Obtain clear understanding of Thrive Credit Union mission, vision, and values and ability to communicate them to others.
  • Must be able to ensure team and self are prepared to handle ever-changing member needs in a constantly-changing and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Builds rapport in an open, friendly, and accepting way.
  • Able to organize, prioritize and delegate (if needed) daily tasks.
  • General understanding of related computer applications.
  • Able to diffuse and resolve conflicts in an efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site leadership, motivation, and direction for the Branch staff, aligning the staff with Thrive Credit Union’s performance and member service expectations.
  • Directs daily front-line operations, including: teller work, new account openings, balancing cash machines, including recyclers, ATM’s, coin machines and vault.
  • Ensure proper cash supplies are ordered and in stock.
  • Responsible for the direct Supervision of Branch frontline staff.
  • Assists and supports the Branch Manager in maintaining appropriate staffing levels, team member supervision, and on-going team member development through consistent training, coaching and development activities.
  • Assists and supports the Branch Manager in maintaining quality and professionalism of staff during their daily interactions with the membership.
  • Assists and support Branch Manager in cultivating and leading Thrive’s WOW Member Experience for membership.
  • Will assume additional responsibilities necessary for the growth of the Branch, growth of the Branch staff, and as assigned.
  • In the absence of the Branch Manager, acts as the final branch authority in daily decisions and is accountable for such decisions.
  • Involvement in Thrive Credit Union promotional activities, community and professional organizations are integral to this position.
  • Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and Thrive Credit Union policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.
  • Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work with the branch loan officers to ensure that members’ lending needs are being met.
  • Learn the loan process of taking a loan application, processing a loan and disbursing a loan.
  • Fill in to take loan applications when loan officers are out of the office.
