About The Position

The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is responsible for leading an assigned team of branch advisory employees, ensuring exceptional service for current and potential members through leadership, coaching, and mentoring. The ABM participates in goal setting, tracks branch results, monitors sales/service delivery targets, is responsible for branch compliance/FINTAC audit ratings, and manages the branch within designated limits in the absence of the branch manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mutual Fund License required depending on region.
  • Must complete the internal Tru Cooperative certification program specific to this role within the required timeframe.
  • 4 years progressive experience in sales advisory roles within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership attributes and/or experience coaching a sales team.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize needs, identify appropriate products, and build strong customer relationships.
  • Proven track record achieving or exceeding sales targets in retail lending and investment products and services.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and solve problems using common sense and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be positive and flexible to change and work in a busy environment.
  • Proficient in computer software programs, e.g., Microsoft Office and banking software programs.
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction to assigned branch advisory employees, including orientation and training.
  • Prioritizes and balances workloads, conducts regular coaching/mentoring sessions, and completes performance reviews.
  • Builds and promotes a team environment, reinforces positive behavior, corrects performance, and initiates disciplinary action as required.
  • Resolves complex or escalated member issues.
  • Participates in the development and achievement of the annual business plan, ensuring team goals and targets are met.
  • Ensures employees have the necessary training and tools for success.
  • Participates in setting branch service delivery targets and inspires employees to provide exceptional service.
  • Seeks opportunities to promote the branch and Tru Cooperative Bank within the community through event participation and relationship development.
  • Refers new contacts and potential sales opportunities to appropriate advisors.
  • Ensures direct reports' credit recommendations and approvals align with established policies.
  • Approves credit applications within established limits.
  • Investigates and resolves risk management security issues (e.g., robbery, fraud).
  • Acts as branch compliance officer, completing related legislative processes and procedures.
  • Communicates updates on legislative requirements to branch employees.
  • Performs other duties as required by branch leadership, utilizing the 'Day in the Life' guideline to prioritize and manage schedules to align efforts with goals and ensure a remarkable member experience.
