About The Position

Maryville High School is seeking an Assistant Coach for the High School Boy's Soccer Program. This role involves managing and supervising athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship. The coach will coordinate the development, promotion, and retention for the Soccer Program, develop and organize practice schedules and plans, and assist student-athletes with college recruitment and post-secondary goals. The position requires effective working relationships with various stakeholders and adherence to administrative duties and budget management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years high school coaching experience preferred
  • Soccer experience at the collegiate level preferred
  • Dynamic communicator and motivator of student-athletes
  • Develops and maintains a positive educational environment as the leader of the team.
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (TSSAA), opponents, officials, staff, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions.
  • Promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
  • Be present and active during any activity involving baseball athletes.
  • Coordinate the development, promotion, and retention for the Soccer Program.
  • Develop and organize a regular practice schedule and practice plan along with other coaches.
  • Provide both individual and team development along with consistent implementation of expectations.
  • Assist student-athletes with college recruitment.
  • Actively support student athlete post-secondary goals.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (TSSAA), opponents, officials, staff, parents, and students.
  • Incorporate best practices into a growth-oriented teaching/coaching style.
  • Perform duties assigned to all coaches by administrators.
  • Develop and manage a team budget strictly according to bookkeeping procedures.
  • Work with the administration to achieve district goals described within the Maryville City Schools Strategic Plan document.
