About The Position
Assist the head coach in developing and leading the high school boys basketball program. Responsibilities include helping plan and run practices, teaching fundamental skills and team strategies, supporting game preparation and in-game coaching, and promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. The assistant coach also helps monitor academic progress, ensures player safety, and contributes to a positive, growth-focused team culture.
Requirements
- Experience in basketball coaching or playing at a high level
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules
- Ability to teach and mentor young athletes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to promoting sportsmanship and positive team culture
- Ability to monitor academic progress and ensure player safety
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as an assistant coach
- First Aid/CPR certification
